About Alayna Bruckner, Predoctoral Psychology Trainee

Alayna Bruckner, M.S. is a fourth-year predoctoral student in Mercer University’s Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology program. During the 2024-2025 academic year, she will be completing her clinical training at Atlas Psychological Services, LLC. under the supervision of Dr. Shah and Dr. Hill.

Ms. Bruckner received bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Criminology from the University of Florida in 2021. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Mercer University in 2023 and is anticipated to receive her Psy.D. in 2026. Ms. Bruckner is passionate about the intersection of psychology and the criminal justice system and aspires to a career in forensic psychology.

Ms. Bruckner has completed prior training experiences in inpatient and outpatient forensic mental health settings under the supervision of licensed psychologists. She has experience completing evaluations in both criminal and civil law settings, mainly pertaining to emotional functioning, parental fitness/child custody, substance abuse, domestic violence, psychosexual functioning, violence risk, and Social Security Disability Insurance. She has additionally provided long-term counseling for justice-involved individuals experiencing severe mental illness, including bipolar- and mood-related disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders. Ms. Bruckner has been trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy and values a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach to assist clients in moving towards their desired life.
